What is Lost and Found?
It’s a creative storytelling project built from anonymous photographs I found in charity shops.
These images once meant everything to someone, and now their stories are missing. This blog is about giving them new ones. Each photograph becomes a starting point for imagination.
Do I need to be a writer?
Absolutely not.
You don’t need experience, qualifications, or confidence, just curiosity!
A few sentences is enough. A paragraph is enough. Even a single imagined thought from the person in the photo is enough.
This space is about ideas, not perfection.
What kind of writing can I submit?
Anything that feels right.
A short story.
A diary entry.
A letter.
A poem.
A monologue.
The moment before the shutter clicked.
The argument after the photo was taken.
There are no strict rules, just imagination and respect.
What happens to my submission?
If selected, your story may:
Be featured on this website
Be included in the final printed book.
Be shared as part of exhibitions or readings.
You’ll always be credited (unless you’d prefer to stay anonymous :)
Can I respond to more than one
image?
Yes, please do!
Every photograph can hold dozens of possible lives. The more voices involved, the richer the project becomes.
